Inner Transformation

Work is inevitable for any kind of authentic transformation. During the process we encounter ‘struggles’ when the flow encounters blocks within us, which can be worked through by harnessing usable energy to do so. This requires our personal intent, dedication to practice, changes in lifestyle, silence, etc.. so that we are able to efficiently work through the blocks.
This is inner transformation – it is what we are here to do – so let us not avoid struggles, they are merely catalysts. Embrace them, with the intent of inducing inner change.

Life is a Catalyst

Life is a catalyst that serves to propel us into alignment with the Greater Reality, the Truth. We cannot avoid the physical plane – our participation with it is required for us to understand the Metaphysical plane. We do however, have to be mindful of not getting entangled in the physical realities and maintain regular practice of connecting with the greater truth. Living and actively being engaged in the process/ events of life is a catalyst.

For example, enzymes are catalysts in our bodies – without them, random molecules would take an unknown amount of trials and error to come together with their pair . However, an enzyme may intervene and aid in the coming together of two parts to allow a reaction to complete. This is a physiologically active occurrence that requires energy and work to support the process. Just so, life is a catalyst, by participating in it with Awareness and by doing the work to generate enough energy, we can assist our process to be propelled further into alignment with the Higher Truth.

Struggle

When the sensation of struggle emanates from internal conflict, the road to serenity requires shifting the internal balance by digging deep to figure out the ‘how and what’. When the struggle is due to external circumstances, if the road ahead seems challenging, the first step to serenity requires a choice: to change the course or meet the challenge. Your internal meter will tell you if you’ve made the right choice.

When I look back at my life and its many phases, the faces, highlight stories, my priorities, etc, have shifted greatly. In ‘breather’ periods, I would be naive to believe that I’ve arrived at my ‘steady state’. Each of us are within our growth cycles. Yoga means Union

Yoga means Union: union of all aspects of our being, the physical, mental, emotional, ethereal. Through practice one submerges in such a union which can unleash deeply beneficial flow of energy. Mastering it, can lead to transcendence. The following points of yoga, according to Sivananda, are integral to living ‘in union’:
Proper breathing
Proper relaxation
Proper exercise
Proper diet
Positive thinking and meditation.

Many roles

Life is a stage where many roles get played. Some touch us enough to deeply transform us; this is a gift. Know though, that others may find the same gift in a different role. The need to justify our role or to think of our gifts as separate may be because our own play has not yet concluded, not till transformation is complete. Once the role resumes, it is no longer personal – we can see beyond it.

The ‘path’

The ‘path’ is whatever the present moment brings. The test is this: can we let go of expectations, attachments, definitions, desires, etc. and align solely with our inner authentic self, to respond in totality to what the present brings? For most, this is a work in progress. The path Is. Now. Whatever we need, is shown. This implicit trust can be key in unfolding the blindfold, one present moment after the next.

Master Courage, Master Love

The need to claim our space may be necessary to authentically identify and heal wounded parts. On the road to inner transformation, short-cuts don’t work. Patience and courage are needed to stay the course. Be mindful, however, of any boundaries that have been created in the process. They may have served us once, but may need to be surrendered for more wholesome growth. First master Courage, so that we may master Love.
